Building a Drum Kit Riser for Noise Isolation

Some drummers who live in apartments build drum kit risers for their electronic kits to help control the noise going into the floor. This helps keep the neighbors below you a little bit less angry.

Here’s one approach, this shows the building process that one guy took.

I thought this looked like a pretty thorough approach, and fairly simple. It’s using tennis balls, which is a pretty good approach to keeping noise off the floor. Here’s another example of using tennis balls in a drum riser.
